The Architectural Heritage Society of Saskatchewan (AHSS)
As part of a new business strategy, AHSS asked
b-creative group to take over design and management of its flagship magazine - at that time called Heritaqe Quarterly.
While the magazine we inherited was already full colour, it was printed on a lower grade of sem-gloss paper and distributed to a very limited subscriber base of 500.
The society wanted to upgrade the overal design values, increase distribution and attract new advertisers to offest costs.
In Phase One, we retained the masthead and name but not much else. Paper was upgraded, with a high gloss laminate added to the cover and the layout was updated with a more contemporary look. We developed an advertising strategy.
Phase Two saw its relaunch as WORTH Magazine with a
change in editorial focus complementing the redesign.
The rebranded WORTH Magazine moves the association foward its target of 4000 copies.
Advertising revenue has begun to offset production costs. There is renewed interest in the
heritage, architectural, trades and construction industries to participate with AHSS.
